An excellent place to visit for art buffs, Detroit Institute of Arts boasts the permanent collection comprising art of Africa, the art and culture of the Near East, art of Oceania and Indigenous Americas, items on American art and culture, and collections from medieval Europe. The collection at this place includes a number of masterpieces of European paintings, encompassing works by Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Picasso, and Matisse.
Famous as the home of the Detroit Tigers baseball team, Comerica Park is a combination ballpark, baseball museum, and a theme park. Some of the attractions at this park are a Ferris wheel, a carousel, a museum of baseball history, and a huge water feature in center field.
A former home of automaker Henry Ford, Henry Ford Estate is located in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn. The estate also includes a man-made-lake, a summer house, staff cottages, pony barn, gatehouse, greenhouse, skating house, vegetable garden, root cellar, a "Santa's workshop", peony and gardens, and five hundred birdhouses. The property is open for public.
GM Renaissance Center is located along the Detroit River and dominates all the huge skyscraper complexes located along the river. This center boasts the 73-storey Marriott Hotel and six other towers having public institutions, offices, conference space, restaurants, and theaters.
