Located around 16 miles northwest of downtown West Palm Beach, McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is home to more than 170 animals including tigers, lions, lemurs, and panthers. Unlike regular zoos, this sanctuary offers visitors interactive opportunities with numerous smaller species. For instance, visitors can hold everything from baby alligators to pythons. McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary also offers free parking and a gift shop.
With approximately 4,200 seats spread all through the four venues, Kravis Center for the Performing Arts puts on about 550 gospel, classical, jazz, and dance performances every year. Some of the popular performances include the Miami City Ballet, Micheal Buble, and Cats. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts also features a casual eatery, restrooms, a gift shop, and valet parking services.
Opened in 1941, Norton Museum of Art houses more than 7,000 pieces of art mostly separated by geography, with objects dedicated to American, Chinese, and European art. There are two additional exhibits for contemporary art and photography as well. Major attractions in the collection include paintings by Monet, Gauguin, and Picasso, and sculptures by William Zorach and Theodore Roszak.
An ideal spot for those in search of relaxation and recreation, Okeeheelee Park offers several miles of trails across 90 acres of wetlands and woods. The park also offers a variety of other outdoor activities including baseball, fishing, volleyball, golf, and tennis.
