Kassel Vacation Packages: Affordable and Exciting Adventures Await!

Located on the banks of River Fulda is the city of Kassel in Hesse, Germany. The city is also famous as the "Capital of the German Fairy Tale Route". Both art and nature are of great and equal importance here. Throughout the year the area remains flooded with visitors due to its rich cultural and historical monuments and attractive parks. The city is known for the "documenta" exhibition which is held once in every five years. Bergpark Wilhelmshohe (the UNESCO World Heritage Site) is the largest hill park in Kassel.
Places of Interest in Kassel
Ball House
The Ball House is one of numerous treasures located in the Bergpark Wilhelmshohe. It was built in between 1808-09 by a German neoclassic architect - Leo von Klenze. The building was initially created as a court theater during the rule of Jerome Bonaparte (Napoleon's Brother). The interior of the building has been designed in a splendid manner. The decoration in the ball room including the crystal chandeliers leaves every visitor speechless.
Lion's Castle
Lion's Castle is a scenic attraction within the Bergpark Wilhelmshohe. Visitors from a distance have a misconception that the building is a Middle Age romantic knight's castle. The fact is that it was constructed in between 1793-1801 as a pesudo-medieval ancestral castle by Landgrave Wilhelm IX, the then commissioner of Hesse-Cassel.
Tram-Museum Kassel
People have been attracted by trams and trains for more than a century. The Tram-Museum Kassel beautifully showcases the history of the trams in the city since the first steam tramway. The museum also houses ancient tickets and photographs, uniforms, artifacts, and more. "Horse-drawn trams 8", railcar 229, and railcar 273 are few of the highlights attracting maximum attention of visitors.
