Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve in Hillsboro is a 635-acre of riverside forest in Washington County, Oregon. A surefire hit among avid bird-watchers, this lowland area hosts several bird species like buffleheads, dusky Canada geese and tundra swans. It consists of a forested wetland and a mix of ponds, marshes, meadows, slough areas, and several deciduous and conifer trees.
Hillsboro Easternmost Park, the Magnolia Park is a nature lover’s delight. Its beautiful water fountain is extremely popular among people of all age groups (especially children) because of its stellar combination of walking areas, greenery, children’s play areas and a picnic area. Its green space is dotted with nearly 200 trees, more than 1000 flowers and a picture-perfect rain garden.
Hillsboro’s Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals is the largest of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. It has 20000 specimens of fine rocks, minerals, fossils, meteorites, fluorescent minerals, zeolites and gemstones from all around the world.
