Michael Harris · Apr 22, 2026The mostly paved walking path following the rim of the Grand Canyon for about 13 miles, Rim Trail boasts a blend of sun and shade from scattered trees. It is one of the most scenic walks in North America. Rim Trail offers stunning vistas and is accessible from the front of the visitor center at Mather Point in the Grand Canyon Village.
One of the most informative and interesting attractions in Grand Canyon National Park, Geological Museum describes in depth the layers of rock visible on looking out the long wall of windows. There are huge diagrams describing the formation of the canyon. Visitors can also see the hiking trails from the windows.
A seven-mile picturesque drive along with canyon rim, Hermit Road is the most popular route in the park. Visitors can drive their own vehicle here between the beginning of December and the end of February. Other than these months, visitors can take park shuttle buses. The route offers incredible views making the journey pleasant and exciting.
The most popular hike in the Grand Canyon National Park, Bright Angel Hike is a long hike that includes round-trip to Bright Angel Campground and takes two days. Most of the visitors only cover some part of the hike in order to get the feel of hiking. The hike includes canyon walls with sharp drops and steep cliffs. Some segments of this trail are ice-covered even when conditions at the top are dry.
