Located less than 10 miles north of Bullhead City near Lake Mohave, Katherine's Landing is one of the best weekend destinations in Arizona. The current site of Bullhead City was the location of a settlement called Hardyville during 1870s. The Hardyville Cemetery is a cruel reminder of how a fickle change in fortunes can turn a once-booming place into a ghost town and a cemetery. About 100 years ago, Bullhead City was an epicenter of mining boom and activities alike that had made the people here insanely rich. However, in due course, railroad was introduced and this brought an abrupt end to the prosperity of the town. What remains today of that glory is but a cemetery called the Hardyville Cemetery.
