The center of Pago Pago, Jean P. Haydon Museum is located in an old iron-roofed building that was once the U.S. Navy's commissary. This museum puts on display the artifacts and objects related to Samoan history, canoes, sea life, kava making, and traditional tools and handicrafts, such as the beautifully woven mats with immense value in Samoa and Tonga. Jean P. Haydon Museum remains open Monday to Friday, except on holidays. The admission is free in the museum.
