Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park

The Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park is one of the largest regional wildlife parks in Canada. It is spread across 42.62 square miles, and is located about 55 miles away from Kelowna. This park comprises extensive birdlife and flora and fauna. Visitors to this park can enjoy hiking, camping, boating, mountain biking, and even hunting. Some common sightings here include animals like mountain goats, white-tailed deer, northern alligator lizard, western skink, western painted turtle, western blue racer, and birds like the western grebe and white-headed woodpecker.


Knox Mountain Park

Knox Mountain Park is one of the most important and well-known natural wildlife parks in Kelowna, Canada. It is named after a 19th century city resident named Arthur Booth Knox who developed a part of this park after he was wrongly accused of arson and was sent to jail. The park comprises 235 hectares of grassland and is home to a large range of flora and fauna. This park has 10 trails that allow hiking and biking for most parts of the year and lead to some panoramic views of Kelowna city and Okanagan lake. Knox Mountain Park is home to the official flower of Kelowna called the Arrowleaf Balsamroot or Okanagan Sunflower. This bright yellow flower is extensively found on the south facing park slopes during April or May.


Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park

The Myra Bellevue Provincial Park is 7,829 hectares of wilderness that doubles up as a recreation destination and historical park in Kelowna, Canada. The park offers hiking, mountain biking, bird-watching, sightseeing and horseback riding in the summer while cross-country ski and snowshoe routes in the winters. Other highlights here include Angel Springs, Bellevue Canyon, Myra Canyon, and 18 trestles and 2 tunnels of the Kettle Valley Railway line.
