Spread across 900 acres in the Canadian town to the south of Hudson Bay, the Hudson Bay Regional Park is home to several camping and picnic sites. This park is home to the ruins of a 300-year old fur trading fort called Fort La Biche. This park is also home to some rare and endangered flora and fauna species as well, central to which are 21 different species of orchids and nearly 200 species of birds. Some major parts of Hudson Bay Regional Park are Ruby Lake, Dagg Creek, Grenbush River and Saginas Lake recreation site. There’s also a playground, golf course, a natural amphitheater, cross country ski trails and a gun range in this park.
Wildcat Hill Provincial Park
Wildcat Hill Provincial Park is a wilderness park located about 25 miles away from the town of Hudson Bay. It is located in the Pasqua Hills and is earmarked as a protected area since 1971. Wildcat Hill Provincial Park attracts a large number of visitors every year (especially in winter season) for hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. This famous park comprises both groomed and unmaintained trails that together run for over 420 miles at a stretch. Wildcat Hill Provincial Park is also home to an extensive range of native animal species like moose, white tailed deer, wolves, American black bear and coyotes.
Hudson’s Bay Company Gallery
Hudson Bay Company was one of the first business organizations set up in Hudson Bay, Canada. Currently, Hudson Bay Company Gallery houses 10000 artifacts related to regional history spanning last 300 years of this company’s history. Nearly half of the collection owes its origin to First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities, and is aptly focused on their cultures and lifestyles. Some highlights here revolve around displays of fur trade, company's role, a model of a local late 19th century shopping store and some related videos.
Al Mazur Memorial Heritage Park
Opened in 1984, the Al Mazur Memorial Heritage Park is theme park that recreates the look and feel of Hudson Bay of early 20th century. It comprises a war memorial, some general stores, blacksmith shops, churches, a pioneer farmhouse attached with a barn and a tea house (with over 1700 cups and saucers). However, its top draws are an original train station with train rides running through the place and a classic collection of 42 John Deere tractors (oldest of them dates back to 1927).
