The Flatirons are cluster of steeply sloping landforms created by erosion of rocks over last 300 million years or so. Boulder is home to five large Flatirons lying along the Green Mountain that attract a large number of hikers and rock climbers. Some additional Flatirons are also found on the surrounding foothills.
