Located around 70 miles south of Blantyre, Majete Wildlife Reserve is known for its rich wildlife. The reserve is home to 400 animals including 7 black rhinoceroses, 228 elephants, waterbuck, sable antelope, nyala, zebra, Liechtenstein’s hartebeests, kudu, and other creatures. You can also explore the ancient rock formations and the Kapichira Falls.
The Lake Malawi National Park is a World Heritage Site and the first freshwater national park on earth. You will find thousands of colorful marine creatures cruising in the lake. Apart from aquatic bodies, you can also see birds like fish eagles, cormorants and hamerkops. The park is located around 151 miles away from Blantyre.
About 50 miles from Blantyre is located the Lengwe National Park. Covering an area of 350 sq miles, the park is filled with many small water-holes. From these holes you can see a varied mix of wildlife that includes kudu, duiker, suni, bushbuck impala and more.
