Sitia Vacation Packages: Affordable and Exciting Adventures Await!

Sitia is the seaside port city, located in Crete. The city was resettled in 1870 AD after being completely destroyed and abandoned for two hundred years. Fast forward to 2016, and you shall find it a visitor’s delight for its sheer range of tourist attractions and water sports. Sitia is sparsely populated and thus presents itself as delightful place for those who are looking for a private holiday or an island with a calm and tranquil atmosphere amidst monasteries, archeological sites and beaches.
Places of Interest in Sitia
Kazarma Fortress
Built in the thirteenth century, Kazarma Fortress’ derives its name from medieval Italian term, Casa di arma that implies ‘the guard barracks.’ It is one of the very last few standing structures of Venetian-era in Sitia and is located alongside a raised ground off the sea coast.
Richtis Gorge
Richtis Gorge is a state protected park that offers a four kilometer long hiking trail. As expected, the ease and favorability of hiking is moderately difficult during winters and is a lot better for the rest of the year. Old stone bridges, rich vegetation and a high concentration of green trees and small animals make this place an exquisite delight.
Vai
Vai is the biggest natural palm forest in Europe, and mostly comprises of Cretan Date Palm. Summers are usually characterized by a high influx of tourists here. Located at half an hour’s distance away from Sitia’s outskirts, it is the most prominent attraction in this part of the world and as such, you would have to shell out some extra bucks for parking and eating. Even using the toilets here would cost a Euro or two.
