An apt place to visit for art lovers, Detroit Institute of Arts features the permanent collection including art of Africa, the art and culture of the Near East, art of Oceania and Indigenous Americas, exhibits based on American art and culture, and numerous collections from medieval Europe. Once a home of automaker Henry Ford, Henry Ford Estate is in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn. This estate also comprises a man-made-lake, a summer house, staff cottages, pony barn, skating house, gatehouse, greenhouse, vegetable garden, root cellar, a "Santa's workshop", peony and gardens, and five hundred birdhouses.
