Built in 1895, the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a famous horticultural and educational institution in Columbus. It is home to a superb collection of more than 400 plant species from various climate zones. In 1994, it became the first American conservatory to showcase several species of tropical butterflies in a seasonal exhibit called the Blooms & Butterflies, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
The Ohio Statehouse in Columbus is the house of government for the state of Ohio. This Greek Revival megastructure was built during 1839 and 1861, and is home to some of the most intricate interior designing that you’ll ever get to see. Its central floor is features 13 stones representing 13 original colonies and a star burst of 32 points to denote the states at the time of this building’s construction. This meticulous design is contained in a gray band that represents the US Constitution.
The Columbus Zoo is home to more than 7000 animals across 800 species, segregated as per their respective climatic zones or habitats. The Columbus Museum of Art was the first art museum to register its charter with the state of Ohio.
