Nevada State Museum

Predominantly placed as one of seven Nevada State Museums, the Nevada State Museum is best known for the world's largest exhibited Columbian Mammoth, the silver service from the USS Nevada and the oldest North American mummy called the Spirit Cave mummy. It is situated in the former Carson City Mint building and is home to a remarkable collection of rock, mining and prehistoric exhibits, plus a recreated Wild West village.

Nevada State Capitol

Built during 1869 and 1871, the Nevada State Capitol is a glorious example of 19th century Neoclassical Italianate architecture. It had hosted all three parts of the state government (Executive, Legislative and Judicial) for more than 50 years after its establishment. Central to its reputation is a time capsule that was deposited here along with the capitol’s cornerstone in June 1870 and would be opened in 2064.
