Bird watcher's paradise
Sarasota has something for everyone. Ringling brothers, Selby gardens, Jungle gardens, Siesta key with the best beach in the world, and much more. It is also full of pocket parks, waterfront parks, the famous Myakka river park and the "celery fields", which makes Sarasota a haven for birds. We saw 90 species in a few mornings of intense bird watching expedition. There is an Audbon center that sells a pamphlet of "hot spots" at the celery fields. Day trips are possible as far north as St. Pete's, Fort De Soto park, south to Venice, Fort Myers and beyond.
