Amman, the capital and most populous city of Jordon, is the political,
cultural, and economic centre of the country. This city is situated in
north-central Jordan and is said to be among the most liberal and
westernized Arab cities. Amman is a prime tourist destination in the
region, particularly among the European travel junkies. Some of the major

Things to do in Amman
Amman Citadel, a historical site located in the centre of the city, is set
on one of the seven mountains that originally made up Amman. The evidence
of occupation since the Neolithic period is found here. This imposing
citadel was inhabited by various cultures and people until the time of the
Umayyads. There are reminiscent of historic structures, tombs, arches,
walls and stairs throughout the site.
Roman Theater, a 2nd century theatre, is a famous landmark in Amman. This
beautiful theatre dates to the Roman period when the city was named as
Philadelphia. Roman Theater and the adjacently located Odean are bordering
the new Hashemite Plaza from the south and east respectively.
St. George's Cathedral
St. George's Cathedral, located on the street Mansour, is a Catholic
religious building of the Melkite or Byzantine Greek rite under the
authority of the Pope in Rome. This holy church serves as the headquarters
of Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Petra and Philadelphia in Amman.

Weather-wise, the best time to book flights from Los Angeles to Amman is
