Kathmandu is the capital of the largest Himalayan state in Asia, Nepal. It has also served as the royal capital for 240 years until 1990, and is consequently a bouquet of beautiful royal palaces, mansions and gardens of the Nepalese aristocracy. It hosts the headquarters of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). It features some class-leading offerings in its 2000 years old historical, cultural, religious, and architectural identity. Kathmandu is located in an ancient lake basin, which is dotted with several historic sites, centurturies old Hindu temples, pagodas made of a single tree, and an 1800 year old statue. Some of the most notable highlights here include a 5th century temple called Boudhnath, a large hilltop shrine called Swayambhunath and the world-famous Pashupatinath Temple.
KTM is an experience I spent 4 days and definitely, I am not a city person but the country side of Nepal is beautiful I spent 20 days there and I am highly recommended if you like the mountains
