During American Revolution, George Washington crossed the Delaware River to take Hessian Garrison into custody by surprise and keep him here. This museum is home to a number of colonial objects.
New Jersey State Museum
Located at 205 West State Street in Trenton, New Jersey State Museum is a part of the New Jersey Department of State. The major assortment here includes artifacts, specimens, and objects dating back to early 19th century. This museum also boasts a 380-seat auditorium and a 150-seat planetarium.
William Trent House is the oldest house in the city. It was built for William Trent, who found the eponymous town which later on became the capital of the state. This house was the residence of three governors in the past.
Contemporary Victorian Museum is an Italianate townhouse featuring fine wood work, antique accessories, authentic period furnishings, and more. The museum remains open for public from Tuesday through Saturday.
