It is located on the north bank of the Pánuco River and is six miles away from Gulf of Mexico. This city is noted for its diverse architecture that seems to liberally attract comparisons from Italian and Neo-Classical styles of architecture. It is advisable to start your day by visiting Palacio Municipal (Town Hall) before going towards the historical downtown areas of city that have many restored historical monuments. Since Tampico is essentially a port city, be sure to check the local Miramar Beach, it has golden sands and aquamarine waters. If you prefer seafood, you can’t possibly Jaibas- it is the most popular seafood dish here and is made of crabs.
