Sonderborg is a Danish town of Region of Southern Denmark. It lies close to the Danish-German border. The prominent attraction here is Sonderborg Slot (the Sonderborg Castle). Constructed in thirteenth century, it is in the centre of the town and has now been turned into a museum that focuses on the history and culture of the area. The museum is open all the year round. Alongside it are located some old mills and churches. Other attractions here include the Royal Danish Army's Sergeant School (shut down in 2013) and a historical castle called Sønderborg Slot (Sandbjerg Estate).
