Civil Rights Memorial Center
Civil Right Memorial Center was designed by Maya Lin. It is a part of a legal foundation (Southern Poverty Law Center) which works for the racial equality and equal opportunities for justice. The memorial was constructed with the aim to honor people who were killed during the Civil Rights struggle. It features the history and role of around 40 martyrs of the Civil Rights Movement.
Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts
The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is located in the Montgomery city. The museum aims in collecting, preserving, and exhibiting the quality art work to enlighten and enrich the natives and visitors. It has a vast and elaborate collection of American art works like portraits, art work on paper including water colors, drawings and prints from 20th-21st centuries, regional art of the southeast featuring work of artists from Alabama, and more.
Montgomery Zoo was established in the year 1991. It is divided into five continental theme the - Africa, Australia, Asia, North America, and South America. The zoo is home to near about 750 animals of around 140 species. These include cheetah, chimpanzee, crowned crane, giraffe, red kangaroo, wallaby, jaguar, wolf, giant anteater, wild turkey, bison and more. The zoo organizes various programs to impart knowledge and education related to wildlife.
