Isafjordur is the biggest town of the Westfjords of Iceland (which are incidentally also the coolest region in Iceland at sea level) and the seat of Isafjardarbær municipality. Earlier a small Icelandic town renowned for its three hundred year old houses and shipping hub, it has now evolved into a bustling metropolis offering multiple sightseeing and adventure sports options. Isafjordur has all that you would come looking for- a naturally beautiful fjord, historic harbor, museum, old timber houses, adventure sports (kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, skiing and biking) and bird watching.
