Nicknamed ‘the Garden City of the Caribbean’, Georgetown is the capital of Guyana. Being the national capital, it is also the administrative and financial centre of Guyana. It is a typical Caribbean hotspot but with a lesser intensity and more architecture. The city has been under French, Dutch and British rule and the same streak is visible in its architecture. On the same note, its Victorian and Dutch Colonial architecture is a little easier to identify here with the louvered window shutters. You can visit this city for a nice evening walk along the sea at The Wall. Other attractions here include Walter Roth Museum of Anthropology, Guyana National Museum and St. George's Cathedral.
