Offering picnic facilities and three walking trails, Thomas Howe Demonstration Forest is located on the same premises as the Gander International Airport. All the walking trails here have unique features including various forest management practices, 1914 logging camp, and pieces of a World War II airplane.
Silent Witness Memorial:
A tribute to bravery, Silent Witness Memorial is a memorial for the 256 members of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles. These members lost their lives in 1985 when the DC-8 was carrying them to the US and was crashed on take-off from the city of Gander.
Cobb's Pond Rotary Park:
A family park, Cobb's Pond Rotary Park features a boardwalk leading through a dense forest and wetlands. The park offers a view of the pond as well. In addition, Cobb's Pond Rotary Park also features a 130-meter floating bridge. In the park, there are available areas for picnic and play.
