    The Mark Twain Study
    The Mark Twain Study was actually a gift to the eminent writer Mark Twain from his sister in 1874. Mark Twain wrote major portions of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Life on the Mississippi, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, The Prince and the Pauper, A Tramp Abroad and numerous other short stories here. In 1952, it was moved from its original location at Quarry Farm to the campus of Elmira College.
    Chemung County Historical Society
    The Chemung County Historical Society is headquartered in Elmira, New York. Following a meeting of the Sons of the American Revolution in 1923, the President of the local chapter Dr. Arthur W. Booth had recommended that a historical association be founded within the city to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the city. Almost a hundred years later today, this building stands as a realization of that aspiration and has a collocation of more than 18,000 artifacts pertaining to Elmira’s history.
