It runs through the mountain town of Silverton while passing through some breathtaking scenery along the Animas River and in the San Juan Mountains.

The Durango Arts Center is an active centre that creates and promotes diverse arts experiences across a number of disciplines. It conducts many in-house exhibitions, performances and educational programs for people of all age groups. Vallecito Lake
Vallecito Lake is located close to the San Juan National Forest and Weminuche Wilderness Area. It is an amazing camping area, and is a popular for fishing, summer boating, horseback riding and hiking on warmer weekends.
