Cathedral de San Francisco
Cathedral de San Francisco is also known as Cusco Cathedral. This cathedral is a major repository of country’s colonial art. It holds several archeological relics and artifacts, including silver, gold, and renowned supper painting of Peru. Cathedral de San Francisco features beautiful interiors. However, visitors are not allowed to carry cameras inside.
Historic Walls and Masonary
The ancient Historic Walls built 500 years ago are major highlights of tour to Cusco. The stones are smartly locked together to perfection. This interlocking system is the reason the Historic Walls have survived through several earthquakes over the years.
Saksaywaman was an Incan fortress, located on the hill overlooking the city of Cusco. This fortress is significant to the protection and control of Cusco. The size of the stones at this spectacular fort is remarkable, many are larger than a car and the biggest is likely to weigh around 200 tons.
