Tahquamenon Falls
The two different waterfalls on the Tahquamenon River, Tahquamenon Falls are located near Lake Superior in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The color of the water is brown because of the tannins leached from the cedar swamps drained by the river. These falls are located within Tahquamenon Falls State Park.
Paradise
An unincorporated community in Whitefish Township, Paradise is surrounded by state and national forests and has tourism as its primary business. It is considered as one of the two gateways to the Tahquamenon Falls area. Paradise is the point of entry to Whitefish Point, which is famed for the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.
Drummond Island
An oasis of wildlife, Drummond Island is an excellent place to visit for wildlife buffs. Deer are a very common sight in this island in Chippewa County. Other common forest mammals are raccoons, chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, woodchucks, weasels, and mice of various varieties.
