Chattanooga Choo Choo is a key link between the southern and northern states of the country and was the first train to offer non-stop service. The "Terminal Station" here is both a tourist attraction and a hotel featuring an antique engine, shops, and restaurants. Rides on a 1924 trolley, visiting beautiful gardens, exploring a restored sleeper car, and seeing a large model railroad layout with over 3,000 feet of track are some of the other major highlights of Chattanooga Choo Choo.
One of the most famous tourist attractions in Chattanooga, Tennessee Valley Railroad offers a potpourri of excursions on board the vintage engines. This list of exciting rides include an opportunity to ride a vintage steam train through stunning Tennessee countryside, passing through a Civil War era railroad tunnel, and crossing three bridges. One can also walk through the eclectic collection of engines, rolling stock, and memorabilia.
Tennessee Aquarium features several interesting displays related to freshwater fish found in the southern US. One can enjoy the Ocean Journey that takes visitors into the open ocean environment where stingrays, sharks, and reef fish glide through the coral formations. There is a “Boneless Beauties Gallery” in the Tennessee Aquarium that includes a giant octopus, jellyfish, and cuttlefish. “River Journey” building takes visitors on a freshwater adventure with exhibits putting on show a steamy Delta swamp, the Appalachian Cove Forest, and the renowned rivers around the globe.
