Wheeler Opera House
Started in 1889, Wheeler Opera House introduced Aspen to the traveling Shakespeare troops, minstrel shows, vaudeville, concerts, lectures, burlesques, and occasional boxing matches. It still organizes concerts, movies, lectures, school theater performances, festivals, and much more. The theatre boasts Moroccan leather seats, a rather impressive proscenium stage, and a blue ceiling embedded with silver stars.
