The Kolonia harbor is arguably the most famous neighborhood in Pohnpei. Located in the northern part of the city, the area is home to some of city’s top hotels like South Park Hotel and the Ocean View Hotel. Next to the hotel you will find the towering Lighthouse that offers superb sea views from its top.
Located in the western part of Pohnpei, Nan Pohnmal is primarily a residential neighborhood that also features the U.S. Embassy housing complex. The area serves as an ideal base to visit island’s two of the most scenic spots the NW reef and the Palikir Pass.
Just about one kilometer from Pohnpei’s major airport lies the picturesque Langer Island. Once a sea base for Japanese in the Pre-WWII era, the area today offers a lot of marvelous hiking trails. While hiking you can also explore earlier gun positioning and the old sea planes.
