Pura Jagatnatha
Pura Jagatnatha, built in 1953, is a religious temple dedicated to the supreme god named Sanghyang Widi. The temple is special because unlike all traditional Balinese temples that recognize many deities, this temple has only one and this makes a bold statement of monotheism. The temple’s shrine is a classical work of white corals and features an empty throne placed above a turtle and two mythical snakelike creatures.
