A town in Grand County, Silver City is the county seat in the US state of New Mexico. The city is located near the center of the county, at the southern foot of the Pinos Altos Range of the Mongolian Mountains. Silver City is about 5 kilometers east of the Continental Divide, in the valley of San Vincente Arroyo. The forest is home to multitudes of wildlife species such as Gila monster, Gila spotted whiptail, black bear, cougar, bald eagle, osprey, and more. Cosmic Campground in Gila National Forest is excellent place for star-gazing.
