    Weather-wise, the months from June to October are the best time to take Sao Tome and Principe flights. Humpback whales visit the waters of the country between late July and October, as these creatures leave their summer breeding grounds in search of warm waters for calving. January, February and March are the hotter months and it can be hazy at the beaches due to Saharan sands being blown westwards. Turtles nest in Sao Tome and Principe between November and February, and in these months, tourists can enjoy turtle watching. The best time to enjoy birdwatching is from October to March. Festivities in Sao Tome and Principe happen mostly in the months of August. June to October is also the peak tourism season in the country. It is advisable to book tickets in advance to get cheap flights to Sao Tome and Principe as airfares tend to rise during peak season.
