It is located at an elevation of 33 feet on the bank of Yukon River in the Yukon Kuskokwim Delta. It is situated nearly 80 miles away from Bering Sea, and its coordinates are 61°56?10?N 162°53?0?W. The city was treated as a landmark by riverboat pilots.
