Built in 1954, the Deer Mountain Hatchery and Eagle Center is located on the Ketchikan Creek. It is a hatchery that raises and releases over 33, 00, 000 baby salmon every year. The Eagle Center is a rehabilitation center that takes care of injured bald eagles and other birds found in the area. The Deer Mountain Hatchery and Eagle Center offers guided and narrated tours of the Hatchery facility and the Eagle Compound. The center remains open from late April to the middle of September.

The exhibits on display in the gallery include totem poles, argillite carvings, masks, scrimshaw, baleen, cedar baskets, and walrus and whale bone whale ivory carvings. Alaskan & Northwest Coast Native Art Gallery is locally owned and remains open all round the year.
