Those looking for an economical option to spend their vacations would find it much to their liking because of a consistent absence of large crowds, inflated prices and congested traffic here. Two star attractions here are the Riverwalk (it offers a breathtaking view of downtown Manistee) and the City Marina and Triangle (it has a stunning view of the Manistee River Channel).

Orchard Beach State Park is a 201-acre state park in Manistee Township to the north of Manistee in Michigan. It is scenically situated on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and is a delightful sum of a beach, campground, picnic area and hiking trails. You can do swimming, fishing, hiking (up to 3 miles) and cross-country skiing here.

Central to all happiness here is the Independence Day Parade on 4th July that is a crowd magnet.
