Manistee National Forest Festival
Celebrated for last 80 years, the Manistee National Forest Festival is the biggest annual event in Manistee. It is celebrated during the first week in July and attracts thousands of visitors every year that come to see its trademark pomp and show revolving around a loud carnival, entertainment, arts and crafts fair and fireworks. Central to all happiness here is the Independence Day Parade on 4th July that is a crowd magnet.
Manistee County Historical Museum
Manistee County Historical Museum offers a faithful screenshot and depiction of those bygone glory days in an original double store built in 1871. You would find a number of Civil War mementos, old newspapers, city directories, pioneer exhibits, antique clocks, costumes, house wares, vintage photographs, and a host of maritime and genealogy research papers.
