Central to all happiness here is the Independence Day Parade on 4th July that is a crowd magnet.

Manistee County Historical Museum offers a faithful screenshot and depiction of those bygone glory days in an original double store built in 1871. You would find a number of Civil War mementos, old newspapers, city directories, pioneer exhibits, antique clocks, costumes, house wares, vintage photographs, and a host of maritime and genealogy research papers.
