Along the coast, there are several beach towns such as the port of Buchanan and the laid-back Robertsport, famous for its strong surf. Nimba mountain range is in the northeast part of the country. This mountain range straddles the borders of Liberia, Guinea, and Cote d'Ivoire, and is dominated by the lofty Mount Nimba. In the southern part of the country are the wetlands and rainforest of biodiverse Sapo National Park, which is home to hippos, elephants, and chimpanzees. Country's far southern tip boasts the grand architecture in the seaside town of Harper telling tourists about more prosperous days prior to Liberia's civil war.
