A host to some of the defining moments in the Civil War, Knoxville is a city and the former capital of the American state of Tennessee. It is situated in the Great Appalachian Valley (or the Tennessee Valley), about halfway between the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau. This iconic marketplace is dotted with benches and tables, and it wouldn’t hurt you to spend a few hours appreciating how life unfolds here every day.
