Jacksonville is a city in and county seat of Onslow County, North Carolina, United States. It is located in North Carolina's Inner Banks region and is home to the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station. It is the youngest city in the country with an average age of its citizens equaling 22.8 years. It is associated with the professional wrestler and current WWE World Champion, AJ Styles. Jacksonville is less than a 30 minute drive away from the Topsail Island and its scenic beaches.

The city is served by Albert J. Ellis Airport (IATA: OAJ). It is a county-owned public-use airport located 11.5 miles northwest of the central business district of Jacksonville. It is used for both general aviation and military purposes. It served by two commercial airlines, Delta Connection and American Eagle that offer multiple scheduled flights to Atlanta and Charlotte respectively.

Onslow Vietnam Veterans Memorial
The Onslow Vietnam Veterans Memorial is dedicated to all soldiers of the five branches of the Armed Forces that had served during the Vietnam War. It is one of the largest Vietnam Veterans Memorials in the nation and consists of an entry wall, a French design bridge and a glass wall etched with the names of fallen solders. Also of note here is a fountain that has 5 colorful jets representing different branches of the Armed Forces.
Lynnwood Park Zoo
Lynnwood Park Zoo is the only animal exhibiting facility in Onslow County. It is home to over 80 exhibits, ranging across several different species of reptiles, birds and mammals. The zoo also offers a touch-station to the children during the tour that allows them to interact with a small range of animals and reptiles with much ease.
The Beirut Memorial
The Beirut Memorial is a memorial to the 241 American peacekeepers (including 220 Marines and 3 soldiers) that were killed after a suicide bomber had blown himself up in the US Marines headquarters on 23 October 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon. The Memorial is located in Jacksonville and bears the inscription ‘They came in peace’, along with the names of those who lost their lives that day. It is represented by two broken walls that were demolished during the suicide attack and a bronze statue.
