Abidjan

Abidjan is a city on the southern Atlantic coast. It is the major urban center in the country, with high-rise buildings towering above the Ebrie Lagoon. Some of the major modern landmarks in the city include La Pyramide, which is a ziggurat-like building. Architecture admirers can visit St. Paul's Cathedral, a structure tethered to a massive cross. Cultural relics, artwork, and handicrafts are showcased at Le Musee des Civilizations de Cote d'Ivoire. Yamoussoukro

Yamoussoukro is the capital of Cote d'Ivoire. The city is located northwest of the Abidjan. The city is the birthplace of former president Felix Houphouet-Boigny.

Grand-Bassam is a resort town located in proximity to Abidjan. The city is famous for its busy, palm-fringed beach that stretches along the Atlantic seashore. The old French-colonial town center is replete with 19th and 20th-century houses. History buffs can head towards National Museum of Costume that showcases examples of traditional dress in a former governor’s palace. Located in proximity to the museum is the 19th-century Sacre-Coeur Cathedral. Located in the northwest of the city is the Ebrie Lagoon and the nearby Ehotile Islands National Park boasting mangroves, lagoons, and estuaries enticing rare birds.
