Oranjestad
The capital city of Aruba, Oranjestad is also a popular cruise ship port.
Strolling through the city, tourists will find a mixed-bag of colorful
colonial buildings and high-rise resorts, bars, restaurants, and shops.
Fort Zoutman, the oldest building in Oranjestad dates to 1798 and is the
site of the Bon Bini Festival, a local music and dance show held every
Tuesday. Oranjestad is also home to the longest linear park in the
Caribbean featuring a paved trail that is prefect for running, walking, and
biking.
Noord
A town and district in Aruba, Noord is famous for its high-rise hotels,
beaches, restaurants, malls, the California Lighthouse, and several other
points of attractions. Some of the major tourist attractions in Noord
include California Lighthouse, Alto Vista Chapel, and Arashi Beach. This
town is the birthplace of Major League Baseball pitcher Sidney Ponson.
De Palm Island
De Palm Island is located at a five-minute ferry ride from the mainland.
Visitors here can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or zipping around on banana
boats. While the popular land-based activities offered here include beach
volleyball, salsa lessons, basketball, bingo, and card games. Tourists
traveling with kids can enjoy at the small water park featuring splash
pools and spiral waterslides.
