TATA SIA Airlines Limited, known by the brand name Vistara, is a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) founded in 2013. The name Vistara has been derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Vistaar’ which means ‘a limitless expanse.’
Vistara brings together Tata’s and SIA’s legendary hospitality and renowned service excellence to be the finest full-service carrier in India aimed at creating memorable and personalised flying experiences for its customers. Commencing its commercial operations on January 9, 2015 with the maiden flights from Delhi to Mumbai, the airline set out with an aim to establish new standards in the aviation industry in India. In a short span of time, Vistara has expanded its services with a fleet of 22 Airbus A320 aircraft serving 24 destinations with over 800 flights a week and more than 15 million customers since starting operations.
