Etihad Airways Launches Arrivals Lounge in Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates has just pushed the envelope a bit further with its luxurious new Arrivals Lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Exclusively for First Class and Business Class travelers, this luxurious facility is the first Arrivals Lounge to be operated by Etihad Airways in the world. The Arrivals Lounge is equipped with world-class amenities including 10 revitalising shower units to freshen up before leaving airport, complimentary cloth steaming services and the innovative new ‘SHAVE by Etihad Airways’ concept has also been introduced inside the lounge.

The Lounge will also feature a dedicated relaxation area, with high-comfort seating, large screen televisions, local and international newspapers, magazines and books. Guests can indulge in refreshments served throughout the day including scrumptious breakfast, hot and cold beverages, delicious canapes, snacks and sweet treats. U.S. Immigration & Customs now open at Abu Dhabi Airport

With the all new U.S immigration pre-clearance facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport, guests can now pre-clear the U.S. Customs and Border Protection formalities even before they get on their flights from Abu Dhabi. After the guests arrive in the U.S, they will be treated as though they are domestic arrivals. With this facility, for onward flights in the U.S., shorter connection times are possible when your luggage arrives to the final destination.

This service is not available for the Etihad Airways flight number EY103 to New York (JFK).

JetBlue and Etihad Airways Announce Codeshare Plans

With an aim to provide enhanced travel options to customers worldwide, JetBlue Airways and Etihad Airways have announced their plans of coming together with codeshare operations. Etihad Airways will have a codeshare agreement with around 40 JetBlue routes, the EY code of Etihad Airways will be placed on JetBlue operated flights. Initially this codeshare will facilitate the connections between the two airlines at the Washington’s Dulles International Airport (IAD) and the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The airlines have planned further codeshare services when Etihad Airways will start operating flights to Los Angeles in June 2014. In future, flights between New York, Jamaica, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic will also be facilitated with this codeshare agreement between Etihad Airways and JetBlue Airways.
