Founded in March 2004, Air Madrid was an airline headquartered in Madrid, Spain. The airline operated regular flights services to few of the top domestic and international destinations including Bucharest, Buenos Aires, London, Paris, Costa Rica and Milan.
A modern fleet Although the airline operated of aircrafts, many of them were poorly maintained. The airline started experiencing long delays on the, especially on its routes from Madrid. After an investigation, the Dirección General de Aviación Civil asked the airline to reduce the frequency of flights. Hence, because of the irregularity of the flights to Mexico City, the airline cancelled its operations to Toluca and Milan. The airline finally ceased operations on 16 December 2006 leaving millions of passengers stranded in Latin America.
