Checked Baggage Allowance The following rules apply for checked baggage in the weight and pice system:
Weight System:

On all domestic routes-
Tourist Class passengers can carry up to a maximum of 15 kg.
Culb Condor passengers enjoy a baggage allowance of 30Kg.

On International flights-
Tourist Class passengers can carry up to a maximum of 20 kg, except on certain routes where the baggage allowance ranges from 25-32 kg.
Culb Condor passengers enjoy a baggage allowance of 30Kg, except on certain routes where the baggage allowance is 40 kg.

Piece System:
This system is applicable for travel in countries like the US, Australia and New Zealand and passengers are required to adhere to teh following requirements:
Economy Class- Each ticketed passenger can carry 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing not more than 32kg and not exceeding 62 linear inches.
Clase Club Condor- Each ticketed passenger can carry 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing ot more than 32 kg and not exceeding 62 linear inches.

Excess Baggage Rules The following rules are applicable for baggage exceeding the permitted limits of free allowance:
Domestic flights: 125MXN for every additional kilogram of baggage
Flights to Brazil: 1% of the normal "Y" single fare will be charged per kilogram of excess baggage.

Checked Baggage Allowance You can carry two checked bags provided each of these falls within the following permissible limits:
• Weighing not more than 50 lb/23 kg
• Not exceeding 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
Excess Baggage Rules If your baggage exceeds the permissible limits of free baggage allowance, you’re required to pay additional fee based on quantity, weight and size. For each bag weighing 51-70 lb, you’ll be charged an additional amount of $25, and for bags between 70- 100 lb the fee is $50 each. There is a fee of $50 for every bag between 63 and 80 inches, and $75 for bags between 80- 115 inches. Bags weighing over 100 lbs and exceeding 115 inches are not accepted. The rates for additional pieces of baggage are- $50 each for 1-3 pieces, $75 each for 4 -6 pieces and $150 each for 7 and up.

Extra Piece- A maximum of two excess pieces will be accepted on a space-available basis only per fare paying guest, with an additional charge of $75 per item.

Overweight- Baggage exceeding 60lb/27kg will be charged $40 per item

Oversize- Baggage with a dimension of 62- 80 linear inches will be charged $40 per item

Baggage weighing over 100lb/45kg is not accepted and is required to be shipped as cargo.

Please report delayed baggage to a WestJet Customer Service Agent within one hour of arriving for domestic flights, and 24 hrs for international flights.
Most delayed baggage arrives within 24 hours but if you have reached your destination, and your baggage has not been recovered within 24 hours, you will be authorized to spend up to $25 a day for 3 days to help cover the cost of incidental expenses while WestJet continues to search.
In rare cases where the bag is not recovered within 30 days, the Baggage Recovery Team will settle your claim up to WestJet's maximum liability of $250, excluding interim expenses of up to $75 (for flights within Canada) and up to 1,000 Special Drawing Rights, including incidental expenses, for international flights.
If the value of your bag contents exceeds WestJet's liability, you may wish to consider purchasing baggage insurance through your own insurance company, prior to travel.
Sports Equipment The following rules apply for Sporting Equipment of different dimensions:

Bicycles- You can carry a bicycle on payment of an additional fee of $30

Skis- One set of skis per guest is permitted (pieces may be packed separately). A set is considered to be:
Skis, boots and poles, or
Snowboards and boots, or
Water skis (up to two)

Scuba Gear
One set of scuba gear is accepted at no additional charge per guest. One set consists of an empty scuba tank, a regulator, a tank harness, a mask, a pair of fins and a snorkel.
Cylinders containing compressed air or a special gas mixture are prohibited
WestJet only accepts empty/emptied cylinders (pressure gauge must read zero).
Tank valve must be open.
Diving lamps must be disconnected, with the terminals taped over to prevent accidental functioning during transport.
Up to 30 kg (66 lbs) of Scuba Gear. Anything over this weight will be charged the excess fee of $5.00/kg

Golf Clubs
Golf bags need to be sturdy enough to provide adequate protection to the contents.
Must have an attached hood to protect club heads
Golf clubs, balls and shoes are to be packed in a suitable golf bag
Golf clubs packed in golf bags not offering sufficient protection to the contents and golf bags which don't have an attached hood will require a Limited Liability Release Form to be completed and signed by the guest.
Golf bags with built in tripods will require the legs to be taped or secured to the bag and a Limited Liability Release Form to be completed and signed by the guest.
