According to a recent article from The Telegraph—based in the UK—London is not the number 1 most visited city by tourists! (Imagine their disappointment.)

As hard to swallow as this news must be for all Londoners, they did still manage to come in a respectable 2nd, overtaking fierce tourism rivals, Singapore and Bangkok!

So who, we hear you ask, is the most visited city on Earth?

Well, that prestigious honor lies with the bustling, and vibrant Hong Kong!

With over 27 million visitors per year, Hong Kong runs away with the prize for the 6th consecutive year, and with good reason. With stunning harbor views, an awesome skyline, and a fusion of cultures found everywhere from the feng shui architecture, to the rich contrasts in cuisine—this city is certainly hard to resist.

Other big climbers in the popular city rankings include Rio de Janeiro, which is expected to climb even higher as the 2016 Olympics approaches. (Watch out London!)

We think Hong Kong is a deserving winner, and London makes a great runner-up! So next time you’re planning a trip, how about combining a stopover in London, on your way to Hong Kong? The best of both worlds.

Would Hong Kong and London be in your top 3? Let us know your favorite city to visit on vacation in the comments section below.
