If you’re visiting the opulent city of Dubai, you can’t NOT make a trip to see the world’s largest mall. There are plenty of high-end goods for sale at the shopper’s paradise that is the Dubai Mall, but there’s also plenty to do at the mall that won’t cost an arm and a leg. Too good to be true? We think not! Read on to find out how you can enjoy a day at the Dubai Mall without eating into your travel budget.

Check out the Dancing Dubai Fountain

Inspired by its counterpart at the Bellagio in Vegas, the Dubai Fountain has upped the ante by becoming the world’s largest choreographed fountain system! Watch and marvel at the 22,000 gallons of water that will be sprayed high up in the air to synchronized music and (at night) a light show — all for the grand cost of zero dollars. All you have to do is find yourself a prime viewing spot around the Burj Lake to take in this truly authentic Dubai experience.

Get a Bird’s Eye View from the Burj Khalifa

While at the mall, don’t forget that you’ll be in the shadow of the world’s tallest building as well. The towering 163-floor Burj Khalifa can you give you breathtaking views of the city. While a ticket won’t get you a trip all the way to the very top, you can visit either the 124th, 125th, or the 148th floors for 360-degree views of Dubai, which is still pretty spectacular. It’s a hot ticket that sees a multitude of visitors at any time of the year, so make sure you purchase yours well in advance.

Dive into the Dubai Aquarium

With over 30,000 living animals, including over 400 sharks and rays, you’ll feel like an underwater explorer — without even having to get wet! The highlight has to be the  270-degree walkthrough tunnel that really puts you right among some amazing creatures, so you better get ready for some Instagram-worthy shots.

Skate in the Desert at the Dubai Ice Rink

Dubai is a place that makes the impossible come to life, and if you thought ice skating in the desert seems like a far-fetched idea, well think again! Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you’ll be able to hit the ice rink located on the ground floor of the mall and have a total blast. Don’t forget to hit the disco at night so you can show off some dance moves on the ice as well. The rink is open from Monday to Sunday.
