Written by Shannon Durso

From extravagant festivals that are roaring with bright lights and loud music to smaller venues with a more relaxed audience and a low-key atmosphere, music festivals come in all sizes, different genres, and take place around the globe. And although most of the largest music festivals are international, we ask you this: have you ever attended a Hispanic music festival in the United States? Regardless of what your answer may be, you should know that Latin American music alone has its own variety of genres with an enormous fan base in America. So, if we’ve already piqued your interest and you’re thinking about attending a fun and lively celebration with today’s hottest Latin hits, then check out these annual events around the U.S.

The 13th Annual Chicago Latino Music Festival (October – November)

classical music event

A different kind of Latino Music fiesta, the Chicago Latino Music Festival is the only classical Latino music festival held in Chicago and is one of few that takes place in the U.S. This year, the event is to be held from October 17 through November 18. Grab your tickets to experience the beautiful performance and join the celebration of Spanish and Latin American composers from the mid-1600s to today. Be sure to check the schedule for dates, times, and locations of each event.

iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina (November)

This salsa festival took place at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. Salsa’s biggest stars such as Willie Colón, Oscar D’León, Rey Ruiz, Andy Montañez, and others performed at this year’s festival in June. And as for the attendees, salsa fans sing and dance the night away every year to hot tropical tunes. Although the event already passed, there’s always next year (the 35th annual show!), so be sure to keep your calendar clear if you’re in the New York City area!

Mariachi USA (June)

If a lively mariachi band excites you, then we suggest you take a trip to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles! The annual Mariachi USA festival will be celebrating its 30th year on June 22, 2019, so prepare for a fun day out if you’re a mariachi fan. Each year, attendees are entertained by several mariachi performers from Mexico and the US, as well as a firework display and folkloric performances.
